Hey. It’s been a hot minute. I’ve been gettin’ busy on those New Years resolutions, making all the visions happen! That last blog really kicked my butt into gear. In fact, the next blog on the way will be a tell-all on a current project I’m working on, which I have been hard at work completing.
For now I wanted to drop in with a baby blog just expressing some appreciation for the person I love. To be honest, I’ve never been a Valentine’s Day person but I do love love, of all shapes, sizes and forms.
Love is a lot of things, but this is a poem about wordless conversation. It is for the quiet people. It is for the people who look at quiet people and assume they are unhappy or just frickin’ weird. (Maybe they are, I don’t know. Their life isn’t my business, but I hope they’re thinking of a joke only they understand.)
I spent all my time in my mind palace
Making jokes, but no one could hear Me.
Built myself up as much as I burned it all down,
But at least I could tell a great story.
I’d lock all my doors and pace off with the voices.
No one knew I was crazy.
On the outside, picture-perfect, quiet calm in my absence,
While the inside could get pretty messy.
Who invited You here,
You heard Me?
How did You know of this place?
Oh, You live just ‘cross the way?
Won’t You come in? But before we begin,
I’ll test you pretty unfairly.
You pass with flying colors, like someone fed you answers.
You speak my Language fluently.
Sometimes I get nervous, the way people stare
When our words are far and few in between.
But I stare at You and You stare at Me
And oh, how I love how You see Me,
